The game had a very big importance for second-rankedBesiktas as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Besiktas defeated their close opponent Fenerbahce in Istanbul 85-72 . It was a key game for the top position in the league. Besiktas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Devon Dotson (188-1999, college: Kansas) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 5 assists. His fellow American import Jonah Mathews (191-1998, college: USC) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Besiktas players scored in double figures. Italian power forward Nicolo Melli (205-1991) answered with 12 points and American point guard Wade Baldwin IV (193-1996, college: Vanderbilt) added 8 points and 6 assists in the effort for Fenerbahce. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings which they share with defeated Fenerbahce .
