There was no surprise when bottom-rankedMykolaiv (0-15) was crushed on the road by top-ranked Rivne (14-0) 70-47 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Rivne. Mykolaiv managed to win fourth quarter 16-10 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rivne dominated on the defensive end, holding Mykolaiv to just 6 points in second quarter and to 14 points in first half. Rivne forced 21 Mykolaiv turnovers. The former international guard Viktoria Shmatova (171-1987, agency: BIG) scored 12 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Oleksandra Protsikevych (178-2001) chipped in 6 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Coach Maryna Maksymchuk's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side center Vladyslava Bronska (182-2003) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and forward Valeriia Stetsiuk (178-2003) scored 6 points and 11 rebounds. Rivne have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Despite that victory Rivne went down to second position due to points difference. Loser Mykolaiv still closes the standings with 15 games lost.
