Regular Season Round 2: Niko Basket - Cherkasy 81-86

The most shocking disappointment of round 2 was a home defeat ofNiko Basket to Cherkasy 86-81 . The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Cherkasy made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Niko Basket 's players. The former international center Andriy Agafonov (208-1986) scored 22 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and chipped in 20 points and 5 assists during the contest. responded with 27 points and 9 rebounds and Bogdan Lukian scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Niko Basket's coach Valentin Berestnev rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cherkasy is looking forward to face Stariy Lutsk at home in the next round where they are favorite. Niko Basket will play against Zaporizhye in Zaporozhye and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
