Regular Season Round 9: DiDiBao - Sambir 84-83

Third-rankedSambir (6-4) gave a tough game to first ranked DiDiBao (11-1) in Kamianets-Podilskyi on Saturday. DiDiBao managed to secure only one-point victory 84-83 . However their fans expected easier game. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Strangely Sambir outrebounded DiDiBao 45-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Sambir helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Eric Butler (193-2001, college: Rio Grande) stepped up and scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and Mykola Vereshchak (-2007) chipped in 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four DiDiBao players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was naturalized Nigerian center Oleksii Adediran (206-1982, college: Binghamton, agency: BIG) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Anton Musiyenko (192-1997) scored 23 points and 7 rebounds. Sambir's coach Volodymyr Polyakh tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. DiDiBao have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-1 record. Sambir at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost.
