No shocking result in a game when first rankedKhmelnytskyi (17-2) smashed at home 5th ranked Niko Basket 2 (6-12) 91-72 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Khmelnytskyi. Niko Basket 2 managed to win third quarter 22-21 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Khmelnytskyi forced 24 Niko Basket 2 turnovers. Strangely Niko Basket 2 outrebounded Khmelnytskyi 48-20 including a 22-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Khmelnytskyi looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Point guard Nikolay Bachurin (184-2003) stepped up and scored 28 points for the winners and guard Dmitry Kachanov (177-2003) chipped in 16 points and 9 assists. Four Khmelnytskyi players scored in double figures. Khmelnytskyi's coach Hanna Shlykova used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side guard Maksym Hryshchuk (185-2006) responded with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and power forward Vitaliy Volodin (198-2004) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. The victory was the fifteenth consecutive win for Khmelnytskyi . They maintain first place with 17-2 record. Niko Basket 2 lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost.
