Eighth-rankedFreedom UA (2-18) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Niko Basket 2 (10-12) in Mykolaiv on Saturday. Niko Basket 2 managed to secure only one-point victory 81-80 . However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 17-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Niko Basket 2 dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Freedom UA 's 34. They outrebounded Freedom UA 41-16 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for forward Kyrylo Nieamtsu (203-2005) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Center Rodion Nesterenko (206-2004) helped adding 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four Niko Basket 2 players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Roman Potieev (-2007) with 31 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and point guard Mykyta Kobylinskyi (184-2006) scored 10 points and 4 assists. Freedom UA's coach Pavlo Burenko rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Niko Basket 2 have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Niko Basket 2 maintains fourth place with 10-12 record. Freedom UA lost sixth consecutive game. Freedom UA at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay dead last with 18 lost games.
