Regular Season Round 15: Sambir - Freedom UA 87-81

Very expected game when 8th rankedFreedom UA (2-18) was defeated on the road by third ranked Sambir (14-6) 87-81 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Freedom UA was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 28-20 charge of Sambir, which allowed them to win the game. They made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized Nigerian center Oleksii Adediran (206-1982, college: Binghamton, agency: BIG) who had a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds (on 16-of-20 shooting from the field). Nikita Ruslov (195-1996, agency: BIG) chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Roman Potieev (-2007) who recorded 23 points and 4 assists and point guard Mykyta Kobylinskyi (184-2006) added 12 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals respectively. Four Freedom UA players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Sambir . They maintain third place with 14-6 record having just two points less than leader Khmelnytskyi. Freedom UA lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 18 lost games.
