Rieker Komarno clinched Alpe Adria Cup title. They lost in Slovenia by four points tonight but earned a comfortable victory on aggregate in the championship series. Farad Cobb (183-PG-93, college: Cincinnati, agency: Three Eye Sports), Boban Tomic (190-G-88) and Vuk Djordjevic (193-G-91) posted 10 points each to lead the Slovakian team.
Helios faced an impossible mission of overcoming a 25-point deficit after the opening leg. They grabbed a 14:10 lead after ten minutes. They maintained the lead throughout the second term. Helios accumulated a 27:23 halftime lead. The hosts dropped 19 points in the third quarter to open a 6-point lead. But Rieker Komarno sank 23 points in the fourth stanza to capture the title at the end. Tomaz Bolcina (208-C-94) tossed in 19 points for Helios. Simo Atanackovic (206-F-90) and Luka Voncina (193-G-91, college: Charlotte) provided 11 points each for the hosts.
