Round 1: Zabok lose to Timisoara

The Regular Season in Alpe Adria Cup just started. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Croatian Zabok at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were rolled over by Romanian Timisoara 88-63. Timisoara shot 63.5 percent from the field. Timisoara had a 25-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Zabok's players. Serbian-Bosnian point guard Nikola Gajic (195-1991, college: SF Austin) stepped up and scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Serbian point guard Ilija Djokovic (191-1996) chipped in 12 points and 10 assists. Timisoara's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American point guard Jarvis Garrett (182-1995, college: URI, agency: Agency) responded with 11 points and 5 rebounds. Timisoara are looking forward to face Spisski Rytieri in Nova Ves in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Zabok will play on the road against Rogaska in Rogaska Slatina and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of Slovenian Rogaska against Croatian Zabok on Friday night. Visiting Rogaska was crushed by Zabok in Zabok 86-62. Forward Fran Jacovic (199-1999) nailed 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and Jarvis Garrett accounted for 12 points and 8 assists. American forward Cody Riley (206-1997, college: UCLA) came up with 13 points and 6 rebounds for Rogaska in the defeat. Rogaska's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Zabok will again play against Rogaska in Rogaska Slatina in the next round. Rogaska will have a break next round.
