Year 8 of the Alpe Adria Cup will not only bring the women's version of this competition for the first time in history, but the attractive confrontation of men's teams from many countries continues. Will we see a new champion in this case as well? The most balanced and least predictable year in the history of the AAC culminated in a great event in Vienna, Austria. In the Hallmann Dome we saw a new country and a new winner again, the trophy was lifted over the head by the players of the Polish MKS Dabrowa Gornicza. And already now many challengers are ready to dethrone them. After negotiations, the board of AAC approved the Year 8 main points. Fans will once again see representatives from many basketball countries. The format of the competition has undergone a slight modification, this time resulting in two groups, one with 5 teams and the other with 6 teams. Representatives from Slovakia, Czechia, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Poland will not be missing. 3 of 4 teams from last season's Final Four are back - Vienna, Spisski Rytieri and especially the current champion of the competition Dabrowa Gornicza. Back in the AAC is the Czech Republic's sti nad Labem and the newcomer of the 8th edition is Croatia's Dinamo Zagreb. 'We are looking forward to exciting season, which will see 19 teams competing in men and women version of the Alpe Adria Cup. The total of 80 games will be played in this season, which is the highest amount in the history of this competition. I would like to say thank you to all the clubs and federations which see international confrontation as an ultimate foundation for growth of the players and their organisations. We see that many of the former AAC participants are now successfully taking part in the Basketball Champions League or FIBA Europe Cup, and I am sure that participation in AAC helped them in growth of their organisations,' said Marek Imre, competition director. As mentioned above, Year 8 of the Alpe Adria Cup has several changes in the playing format. From the regular season, the teams in the top two places will advance directly to the Final Four. The Alpe Adria Cup 2023/2024 is scheduled to start on 18 October 2023, with the Final Four taking place on 15-17 March 2024. List of clubs and draw of Alpe Adria Cup 2023/2024 regular season:
