UBSC Raiffeisen Graz (BSL) signed 26-year-old former international 190cm guard Jonathan Knessl for the upcoming season. Knessl has played for the past nine years at Unger Steel Gunners Oberwart. In 34 BSL games in Austria last season, he averaged 3.6ppg and 1.2rpg. He played a key role in helping his team reach both the league and Supercup final after finishing the regular season as the second-best team.
Knessl was also a member of the Austrian international program for some years. He played for the Austrian Senior National Team between 2022 and 2024 and previously for the Under 18 National Team back in 2018.
Knessl also represented Austria at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 European Pre-Qualifiers last year. During this event, he scored an average of 11 points per game and had 1.5 rebounds per game.
