American Forward
Andrew Orr (204-F-2003) had a very impressive game in the last round for
Coldmaris BBC Nord Dragonz Eisenstadt, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 23-year old player had a double-double of 32 points and 11 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team
Vienna (#11,
0-5) with 23-point margin
98-75.
Nord Dragonz maintains the 4th position in Austrian BSL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season.
Eisenstadt will need more victories to improve their
3-1 record. In the team's last game Orr had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be
Nord Dragonz's top player in his first season with the team. Former Washburn University star has very solid stats this year. Orr leads league in rebounds with 9.8rpg. Orr is in league's top in and averages impressive 66.7% FGP and 50.0% from behind 3-point line.
The second best player in last round's games was young American
Jaylen Bates (201-F-2001, agency:
Ten18 Management) of
SKN St. Poelten Basketball. Bates had a very good evening with a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as UBC St. Poelten was edged by league's leader
Gmunden (#3,
4-0)
77-76. St.Poelten managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a
2-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Bates is a newcomer at St.Poelten, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.8ppg (#2). He also registered 7.8 boards per game. Former Youngstown State University star Bates is a former
Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.
Third on the list of top players last round was American forward
Josiah Shackleford (206-F-2000, agency:
Elevate Sports Alliance) of
UBSC Raiffeisen Graz (#7). Shackleford scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). Despite Shackleford's great performance the UBSC Graz lost
80-93 to
Oberwart (
2-3). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of UBSC Graz ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Shackleford could help UBSC Graz to bring them higher in the standings. Shackleford has a great season in Austria. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.4ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 9.2rpg (2nd best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
