Regular Season Round 2: Anadolu Efes - Valencia 79-63

Both teams faced with defeats in Round One, but last night it was Efes Pilsen who managed to take the first win. Igor Rakocevic came up with 20 points and Marvis Thornton scored 19 pts, plus he pulled down 10 rebounds (valuation 29). Kerem Tunceri helped the hosts with 16 points in this meeting. Dusko Savanovic shined for Valencia with 15 points and 8 boards. Serhiy Lishchuk was their second scorer with 12 points. Valencia had amazing start as they created 2-12 lead in the first five minutes. The hosts immediately woke up after that and replied with 12-4 for rest of the first quarter, 14-16. After basket by Nachbar, Efes Pilsen tied the score to 20-20 and later managed to take 34-29 lead after 20 minutes of play. Third quarter was the crucial one in this game. Igor Rakocevic was almost unstoppable and together with Marvis Thornton and Kerem Tunceri, helped Efes Pilsen to create 8-0 run at the halfway of Q3. They finished this period later with 57-45 and Valencia had no chance for rest of the way. In the next round, Efes Pilsen will host AJ Milano. Valencia will also play at home, but their rival will be CSKA Moscow. Both games are scheduled for November 3.
