CSKA are the 18/19 Euroleague champions. They overcame Anadolu Efes in the title clash in Vitoria-Gasteiz tonight. Will Clyburn (201-SF-90, college: Iowa St.) and Cory Higgins (196-G-89, college: Colorado) nailed 20 points each to pace the Moscow powerhouse. CSKA got to a terrific start. They unloaded 29 points in the first period to open a 9-point lead. Anadolu Efes however stiffened defensively in the second frame. The Turkish underdog limited CSKA to 15 points in the period to pull within 2 points at the big break 42:44. Krunoslav Simon (197-F/G-85) put Anadolu Efes in front early in the second half 45:44. But CSKA quickly regained the advantage and rolled to a 68:62 lead at the final break. CSKA boosted the margin at 12-point mark midway through the fourth term. Anadolu Efes though pulled within four 81:85 with just under two minutes remaining. Cory Higgins and Will Clyburn followed with a bunch of free throws to restore cushion at 89:81 as CSKA marched to the victory. Nando De Colo finished with 15 points for the champions. Shane Larkin (180-PG-92, college: Miami, FL) answered with game-high 29 points for Anadolu Efes. Krunoslav Simon chipped in 15 points in the loss.
