Olympiacos Piraeus are EuroLeague champions. Alec Peters (206-PF-1995, college: Valpo) sank two ice-cold free throws with 11.2 seconds remaining to put the Reds 90-85 ahead after Andres Feliz (188-PG-1997, college: Illinois)'s wide-open three-pointer to tie it rattled out, Olympiacos closed out a 92-85 victory over Real Madrid in a Championship Game that had everything a seven-point first-quarter deficit erased, a second-half seesaw, and a fourth-quarter eruption that delivered the trophy to the home crowd at Telekom Center Athens. It is Olympiacos' fourth EuroLeague title and their first since 2013. In five Championship Game meetings with Real Madrid (1995, 2013, 2015, 2023, 2026), the series is now split 2-3 but this one belonged entirely to the Piraeus faithful who packed the Athens arena and willed their team home through 40 minutes of relentless drama. Evan Fournier (198-G/F-1992) was the hero Olympiacos needed. The French veteran scored 20 points all 11 of his first-half total coming in a transformative second quarter with three triples, a perfect 5-of-5 from the free-throw line, five rebounds, and four assists. His back-to-back three-pointer with Cory Joseph (189-G-1991, college: Texas) to open the fourth quarter (67-65 Olympiacos) was the moment the tide turned for good. Peters finished with 16 points on 5-of-6 from the field (including the turnaround baseline jumper that made it 80-77 with 2:12 left), seven rebounds, and a game-high 26 efficiency. When Real scored five points in eight seconds to cut it to 88-85 in the dying moments, it was Peters at the line who steadied the ship. Thomas Walkup (193-PG-1992, college: SF Austin) added 10 points (2-of-2 from three), Aleksandar Vezenkov (204-PF-1995) had 12 with four rebounds, and Nikola Milutinov (213-C-1994, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed eight points and eight rebounds (five offensive). Olympiacos shot 50 percent from three (10-of-20) and 81.5 percent from the line (22-of-27) championship-caliber numbers when it mattered most. Real Madrid made them earn every point. Trey Lyles was sensational with 24 points 13 in a first quarter that saw Los Blancos race to a 26-19 lead after he scored 10 of their first 12 on 5-of-6 from deep with eight rebounds and three steals for a game-high 30 efficiency. Mario Hezonja (202-F-1995) had 19 points, five assists, and four steals, including the three-pointer that tied it at 80-80 with 2:12 remaining. Feliz added 13 and Facundo Campazzo (181-PG-1991) orchestrated with six assists despite early foul trouble. But Real's 37.1 percent three-point shooting (13-of-35) and 66.7 percent from the free-throw line (12-of-18) cost them in a seven-point game particularly Feliz's miss on the potential tying triple in the final seconds. The game followed a dramatic arc. Real's Lyles-powered first quarter (26-19) gave way to Olympiacos' Fournier-fueled second (27-18, 46-44 HT). Real retook control through the third behind Feliz's personal 5-0 run and Hezonja's drives (61-65 entering Q4). Then Olympiacos produced a 31-20 fourth-quarter masterpiece their best period of the entire Final Four to claim the crown. Coach Georgios Bartzokas' squad had dismantled Fenerbahce 79-61 in Friday's semifinal with three separate 10-0 runs, but the final demanded a different kind of excellence patience, composure, and the ability to respond every time Real Madrid landed a blow. They delivered all three. Real Madrid's players had warmed up wearing "Get well soon, Usman" shirts in tribute to Usman Garuba, who suffered an Achilles injury in the semifinal win over Valencia.  The standout Bulgarian power forward Aleksandar Vezenkov was selected as the Player of the Year of the championship-winning champion team Olympiacos S.F.P.
Piraeus from Greece.
He received multiple other awards, was honored as the European Player of the Year, Forward of the Year, and was named to the First Team and was named to Honorable Mention selection.
Vezenkov's excellent performance assisted his team in beating Real Madrid 92 to 85 in the final.
He previously earned Honorable Mention back in 2021, and earned a spot in the First Team back in 2022 and 2023, Player of the Year, Forward of the Year and European Player of the Year back in 2023.
Vezenkov averaged over 6 rebounds per game in the league.
He was the Player of the Week honoree three times during the 25 26 campaign.
