The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Unics Kazan as it allowed them to take a leadership position in the league after previous leader did not play in round 7. Triumph Lyubertsy will play next round against BC Nizhny Novgorod trying to get back on the winning streak. Unics Kazan will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Enisey Krasnoyarsk at home.
