Very important is a road loss of third ranked Albacomp (11-3) against eighth ranked Marso-Vagep (6-7) on Wednesday night. Visiting Albacomp was defeated by eighth ranked Marso-Vagep (6-7) in Nyiregyhaza 87-76. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Albacomp. It looked good early as Albacomp took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Marso-Vagep took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 11 points. They also forced 19 Albacomp turnovers. The former international center Laszlo Czigler (215-71, agency: Laszlo Vinko Services) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Mate Mohacsi (192-90) supported him with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds by American center Jonathan Jones (211-79) did not help to save the game for Albacomp. His fellow American import forward Damian Hollis (203-88, college: George Washington) added 14 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Five Marso-Vagep and four Albacomp players scored in double figures. Marso-Vagep has a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Falco-Szova. Albacomp at the other side dropped to the second position with three games lost. They share it with Atomeromu. Marso-Vagep will play against PVSK Pannon (#11) in Pecs in the next round. Albacomp will play at home against Soproni (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
