Another exciting game was between seventh ranked Dynamo-GUVD and 8th ranked Spartak St.Petersburg where Dynamo-GUVD (4-6) beat Spartak St.Petersburg (3-7) on the road 79-75. It looked good early as Spartak St.Petersburg took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Dynamo-GUVD had a 22-17 second period charge getting the lead and Spartak St.Petersburg was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-79. Dynamo-GUVD made 23-of-27 charity shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Spartak St.Petersburg was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Montenegrin swingman Ana Dabovic (183-89) who helped to win the game recording 28 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. International center Natalya Myasoedova (192-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Four Dynamo-GUVD players scored in double figures. Dynamo-GUVD's coach Boris Sokolovskiy allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Eugeniya Belyakova (182-86) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and American power forward Jennifer Lacy (191-83, college: Pepperdine) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Spartak St.Petersburg. Dynamo-GUVD moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Dynamo M. Spartak St.Petersburg at the other side keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. Dynamo-GUVD will play against league's second-placed Nadezhda Orenburg at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Spartak St.Petersburg will play against Dynamo Kursk (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
