Szolnok (8-10) outlasted Szeged (11-5) in overtime by two points 84-82 on Wednesday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Szeged. Szeged cut a 13-point halftime deficit to tie the game at the end of regular time. But they lost overtime period 10-12. Szolnok made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Guard Krisztina Pungor (170-85, agency: Laszlo Vinko Services) stepped up and scored 19 points and 4 assists for the winners and Slovenian guard Katarina Ristic (174-84) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Szolnok players scored in double figures. Ukrainian forward Olena Zherzherunova (191-78, agency: LBM Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds and the former international guard Bernadett Nemeth (173-80) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists. Szolnok maintains seventh place with 8-10 record. Szeged at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Nanette FTC. Szolnok will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Szeged will play at home against SEAT Lami (#3) in Gyor and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
