Regular Season Round 15: Starwings - Lugano Tigers 71-85

LNA top team - Lugano Tigers (14-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat seventh ranked Starwings (6-9) in Basel 85-71. Starwings were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Lugano Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Starwings' 28. It was a great evening for American forward Mohammed Abukar (208-85, college: San Diego St., agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points. His fellow American import center Byron Sanders (207-83, college: N.Carolina, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 12 points and 14 rebounds. Five Lugano Tigers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Tony Brown (193-79, college: Arkansas St.) with 21 points and 4 assists and Canadian-Irish swingman Tony McCrory (199-77, college: Simon Fraser) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Lugano Tigers has a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 14-1 record. Starwings at the other side keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Lugano Tigers will play against league's second-placed Fribourg at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Starwings will play against BBC Nyon (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
