Regular Season Round 15: Albacomp - Soproni 76-74

Tenth-ranked Soproni (6-9) made lots of trouble for second ranked Albacomp (12-3) in Szekesfehervar on Saturday. Albacomp managed to secure only two-point victory 76-74. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Soproni. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Soproni won third quarter 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Albacomp made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was international guard Adam Hanga (201-89, agency: FCM) who scored 15 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. The former international guard Balazs Simon (188-80, agency: Court Side) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Thomas Kelley (188-77, college: Michigan St., agency: Avi Zilberman) who recorded 20 points and 6 assists and the other American import power forward Darian Townes (208-84) added 15 points and 14 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Albacomp maintains second place with 12-3 record having just -1 point less than leader Szolnok, which they share with Atomeromu. Soproni at the other side dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. They share it with Marso-Vagep and Szedeak. Albacomp is looking forward to face Falco-Szova (#7) in Szombathely in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Soproni will have a break next round.
