Regular Season Round 16: Konecranes - ZTE KK 63-95
Date: January 12, 2011
Bottom-ranked Salgotarjani is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 14th consecutive match to sixth ranked ZTE KK (10-6) 95-63 on Wednesday evening. The game was mostly controlled by ZTE KK. Salgotarjani managed to win fourth quarter 28-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ZTE KK dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Salgotarjani's 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Salgotarjani's players. The winners were led by guard Adam Vertetics (187-87) who scored that evening 12 points and 9 rebounds and international swingman David Vojvoda (191-90, agency: Laszlo Vinko Services) supported him with 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four ZTE KK players scored in double figures. ZTE KK's coach Imre Patonay felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 20 points and 19 rebounds by forward Andras Vavra (200-78) did not help to save the game for Salgotarjani. Guard Zoltan Szabo (185-83) added 17 points for lost side. ZTE KK has a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Kecskemeti. Loser Salgotarjani still closes the standings with 14 games lost. ZTE KK will meet at home PVSK Pannon (#7) in the next round. Salgotarjani will play against Marso-Vagep (#8) in Nyiregyhaza and hopes to get finally their first victory.
