Rather expected game when 9th ranked BBC Nyon (2-14) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Starwings (7-9) 76-66 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Starwings. BBC Nyon managed to win second period 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Starwings forced 20 BBC Nyon turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by BBC Nyon's players. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Alex Thompson (208-85, college: Iowa St.) fired 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Tony Brown (193-79, college: Arkansas St.) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Chad Byron (188-87, college: Cumberlands) produced 31 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and center Cruz Daniels (211-85, college: High Point) added 9 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 blocks respectively for lost side. Starwings moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Boncourt. BBC Nyon lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 14 games lost. Starwings will meet SAM Massagno (#8) on the road in the next round. BBC Nyon will play against SAV Vacallo in Chiasso and hope to secure a win.
