Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked BC Nizhny Novgorod and 7th ranked Dynamo Moscow had identical 2-6 record. This time BC Nizhny Novgorod used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Moscow 72-63 on Saturday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-15. But Dynamo Moscow won second period 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international swingman Andrei Ivanov (197-84) nailed 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and Serbian guard Ivan Paunic (194-87, agency: Beo Basket) accounted for 17 points and 5 rebounds. The former international guard Dmitry Khvostov (191-89) came up with 10 points and 5 assists and the former international forward Nikita Shabalkin (204-86) added 15 points respectively for Dynamo Moscow in the defeat. Four Dynamo Moscow players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BC Nizhny Novgorod (3-6) moved-up to seventh place. Loser Dynamo Moscow dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. They share it with Krasnie Krilya. BC Nizhny Novgorod will meet league's second-placed CSKA Moscow on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dynamo Moscow will play against the league's leader Unics Kazan (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
