Regular Season Round 10: Krasnie Krilya - Triumph 79-54

Bottom-ranked Krasnie Krilya managed to get a third victory, breaking the six-game losing streak. This time they outleveled eighth-ranked Triumph Lyubertsy in Samara 79-54. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 25-point difference suggests that Krasnie Krilya is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. Triumph Lyubertsy was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Krasnie Krilya made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Triumph Lyubertsy turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Slovenian power forward Primoz Brezec (216-79) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Brion Rush (186-84, college: Grambling St., agency: Court Side) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Krasnie Krilya players scored in double figures. Forward Valery Likhodey (203-86) replied with 12 points and 8 rebounds and guard Iliya Syrovatko (193-88) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Triumph Lyubertsy. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Krasnie Krilya (3-7) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with N.Novgorod and Dynamo. Triumph Lyubertsy lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with seven games lost. Krasnie Krilya's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Unics Kazan on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Triumph Lyubertsy will play against Spartak St.Petersburg (#4).
