Regular Season Round 21: Atomeromu - Pecs 2010 63-93

Leader Pecs 2010 delivered the twentiethth victory. This time they crushed 9th ranked Atomeromu (7-13) 93-63 in Szekszard. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Atomeromu. It looked good early as Atomeromu took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Pecs 2010 had a 28-14 second period charge getting the lead and Atomeromu was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-93. Pecs 2010 dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Atomeromu's 32 and made 20-of-21 charity shots (95.2 percent) during the game. Pecs 2010 forced 20 Atomeromu turnovers and outrebounded them 31-12 including a 21-6 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for Serbian center Sara Krnjic (193-91) who led her team to a victory with 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). The former international guard Dalma Ivanyi (178-76, college: Florida Intern.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Pecs 2010's coach Zeljko Dokic felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Montenegrin forward Biljana Turcinovic (186-89) answered with 13 points and forward Anita Demeter (178-85) added 15 points in the effort for Atomeromu. Pecs 2010 (20-1) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place. Atomeromu at the other side keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Pecs 2010 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Atomeromu will play at home against ZTE (#4) in Zalaegerszeg and hopes to get back on the winning track.
