Regular Season Round 18: Lugano Tigers - BBC Nyon 93-69

Date: January 29, 2011
LNA top team - Lugano Tigers (16-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked BBC Nyon (2-16) 93-69. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-69. Lugano Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by BBC Nyon's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Lugano Tigers made 7 blocks. American-Nigerian guard Michael Efevberha (196-84, college: Cal.St. Northridge) notched 27 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and American power forward Matt Schneiderman (205-81, college: N.Iowa) supported him with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Lugano Tigers players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds by American swingman Lester Hunte (196-88, college: Northwood Fl.) did not help to save the game for BBC Nyon. His fellow American import guard Chad Byron (188-87, college: Cumberlands) added 24 points. Defending champion maintains first position with 16-2 record. BBC Nyon lost thirteenth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
