There was no surprise in Kaimakli where 9th ranked ENAD (3-10) was defeated by fifth ranked Achilleas (8-6) 91-83 on Sunday. ENAD trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 30-27 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 83-91 at the end of the game. Achilleas made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game. Achilleas outrebounded ENAD 40-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for Montenegrin center Savo Djikanovic (211-75, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds. Greek forward Georgios Diamantopoulos (195-80) helped adding 20 points and 7 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!). The best for the losing side was Canadian center David Collins (213-85, college: Bradley) with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks and American swingman Tyrone Kent (196-86, college: Toledo) scored 17 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Achilleas maintains fifth place with 8-6 record. ENAD lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Achilleas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. ENAD's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Nicosia Omonia.
