LNA top team - Lugano Tigers (17-2) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed seventh ranked SAM Massagno (8-11) 96-63. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of SAM Massagno. The game without a history. Lugano Tigers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to SAM Massagno's 24. They outrebounded SAM Massagno 43-20 including a 34-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lugano Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by SAM Massagno's players. It was a great evening for American swingman Edwin Draughan (196-82, college: Yale) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. The former international guard Dusan Mladjan (199-86, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 21 points. Four Lugano Tigers players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Branden Johnson (206-86, college: Montana St.) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Vincenzo Faessler (198-82) scored 6 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 17-2 record. SAM Massagno at the other side keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Starwings. Lugano Tigers are looking forward to face Monthey (#5) at home in the next round. SAM Massagno will play against Boncourt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
