The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Limassol: Apollon (#4) and AEL (#7). Apollon (9-5) smashed visiting AEL (4-10) by 27 points 95-68. The game without a history. Apollon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Apollon outrebounded AEL 40-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Terence Dials (206-83, college: Ohio St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. American-Puerto Rican swingman Joel Camacho (196-81, college: Sacramento St.) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Apollon players scored in double figures. American guard Brandon Ewing (187-86, college: Wyoming, agency: Interperformances) replied with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian forward Dragoslav Papic (205-87, agency: Global Sports Plaza) added 14 points in the effort for AEL. AEL's coach Linos Gavriel gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Apollon moved-up to third place, which they share with Etha. AEL lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with ten games lost. They share it with ENAD. Apollon is looking forward to face league's leader APOEL in Nicosia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. AEL will play at home against ENAD (#7) in Nicosia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
