Very expected game when 13th ranked FS Debrecen (1-19) was smashed by fourth ranked Atomeromu (14-6) in Paks 101-75 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Atomeromu. FS Debrecen managed to win fourth quarter 27-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Atomeromu dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to FS Debrecen's 30 and made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. They outrebounded FS Debrecen 35-24 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Atomeromu looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by FS Debrecen's players. The winners were led by the former international center Gergely Koertelyesi (203-83, agency: Laszlo Vinko Services) who scored that evening 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and American guard Jibril Hodges (188-84, college: Long Beach St.) supported him with 15 points and 6 assists. Four Atomeromu players scored in double figures. Even 21 points and 7 rebounds by Cameroonian forward Yves Mekongo (201-87, college: La Salle) did not help to save the game for FS Debrecen. American guard Chris Singletary (194-88, college: Kent St.) added 17 points, 7 assists and 4 steals for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Atomeromu maintains fourth position in Division with 14-6 record. Loser FS Debrecen keeps the thirteenth place with 19 games lost. Atomeromu will meet bottom-ranked Salgotarjani (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. FS Debrecen will play against Szedeak in Szeged and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
