The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Zurich Wildcats' (1-19) road loss to ninth ranked BBC Nyon (3-17) 73-83 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by BBC Nyon. Zurich Wildcats managed to win fourth quarter 31-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BBC Nyon dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Zurich Wildcats' 34. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when BBC Nyon made 9 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Chad Byron (188-87, college: Cumberlands) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 assists and the other American import swingman Lester Hunte (196-88, college: Northwood Fl.) who added 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Hunte is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Serbian center Mladen Lukic (207-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized Spanish guard Ivan Castro (195-88) scored 18 points and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BBC Nyon maintains ninth position with 3-17 record. Zurich Wildcats lost ninth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 19 lost games. BBC Nyon will meet higher ranked SAV Vacallo (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Zurich Wildcats will play against Fribourg (#3).
