PBL top team - Unics Kazan (10-3) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat tenth ranked BC Nizhny Novgorod (3-10) 76-66. The game was mostly controlled by Unics Kazan. BC Nizhny Novgorod managed to win fourth quarter 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Naturalized Belarusian forward Vladimir Veremeenko (208-84) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. American guard Terrell Lyday (190-79, college: BYU) chipped in 22 points. Forward Artem Yakovenko (206-88) produced 18 points and 5 rebounds and the former international forward Semen Antonov (202-89) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. BC Nizhny Novgorod's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Unics Kazan have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-3 record. BC Nizhny Novgorod lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Unics Kazan will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BC Nizhny Novgorod will play against Triumph Lyubertsy (#7) in Lubertsy and hope to secure a win.
