Regular Season Round 20: Kecskemeti - Kaposvari 89-64
Date: February 12, 2011
Very predictable result when sixth ranked Kecskemeti (12-7) rolled over at home 11th ranked Kaposvari (6-14) 89-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kecskemeti. Kaposvari managed to win second period 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kecskemeti dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Kaposvari's 26. Kecskemeti forced 19 Kaposvari turnovers and outrebounded them 38-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by Croatian swingman Ivan Siriscevic (198-87) who scored that evening 19 points and 7 rebounds and international power forward Milan Csorvasi (209-88, college: High School, agency: FCM) supported him with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Kecskemeti players scored in double figures. Kecskemeti's coach Stojan Ivkovic felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 20 points by American guard Josh Wilson (188-87, college: N.Arizona, agency: Beggs and Lane) did not help to save the game for Kaposvari. His fellow American import forward Daniel Werner (203-87, college: Florida) added 11 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Kecskemeti maintains sixth position in Division with 12-7 record. Loser Kaposvari dropped to the twelfth place with 14 games lost. Kecskemeti will meet higher ranked ZTE KK (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kaposvari will play against the league's second-placed Albacomp (#2) in Szekesfehervar and hope to secure a win.
