Regular Season Round 16: Pully - Nyon 79-77

Seventh-ranked Nyon (2-14) was very close to win a game against fourth ranked Pully (10-6) on Saturday. Pully managed to secure only two-point victory 79-77. However their fans expected easier game. Nyon trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 23-12 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 77-79 at the end of the game. Pully forced 27 Nyon turnovers and outrebounded them 47-31 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Mariesa Greene (183, college: Barry) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 19 rebounds. Senegalese guard Diodio Diouf (170-84) contributed with 24 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals for the winners. Four Pully players scored in double figures. American power forward Hillary Klimowicz (191-87, college: TCNJ) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Melissa Favre (184-92) added 22 points in the effort for Nyon. Pully moved-up to third place, which they share with Riva Basket. Nyon lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 14 games lost. Pully is looking forward to face Riva Basket (#3) in Riva San Vitale in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Nyon will play at home against the league's second-placed Fribourg (#2) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
