The most exciting game of round 21 in the LNA took place in Monthey. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 5th ranked Monthey (12-9) to seventh ranked Starwings (10-11) 89-88 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 24-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American guard Vernard Hollins (190-80, college: Wright St., agency: Warren Sports International) who saved his team from a defeat with 32 points. Canadian-Irish swingman Tony McCrory (199-77, college: Simon Fraser) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Starwings players scored in double figures. American-Jamaican forward Ronald Yates (201-83, college: St.Peter's) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and American forward Arizona Reid (196-86, college: High Point) added 25 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Monthey. Starwings moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Boncourt. Monthey at the other side keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. Starwings is looking forward to face SAM Massagno (#8) on the road in the next round. Monthey will play against SAV Vacallo in Chiasso and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
