Bottom-ranked BC Nizhny Novgorod managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the four-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time newly promoted BC Nizhny Novgorod won against seventh-ranked Triumph Lyubertsy 84-75. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Triumph Lyubertsy won third quarter 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Nizhny Novgorod forced 21 Triumph Lyubertsy turnovers. The former international swingman Andrei Ivanov (197-84) scored 14 points to lead the charge for the winners and guard Dmitry Golovin (192-88) chipped in 14 points during the contest. The former international guard Egor Vyaltsev (192-85) responded with 25 points and 6 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and guard Iliya Syrovatko (193-88) scored 24 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. BC Nizhny Novgorod (4-10) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Dynamo. Loser Triumph Lyubertsy dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. BC Nizhny Novgorod will meet Dynamo Moscow (#9) on the road in the next round. Triumph Lyubertsy will play against CSKA Moscow and hope to secure a win.
