The game in Nyon supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Fribourg (14-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Nyon (2-15). Fribourg smashed Nyon 82-55 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Fribourg. Nyon managed to win fourth quarter 22-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fribourg forced 30 Nyon turnovers and outrebounded them 37-22 including 22 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American center Celeste Trahan (184-85, college: Elizabeth City, agency: LBM Management) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 16 rebounds. Power forward Pauline Winkler (173-88) chipped in 11 points. American power forward Hillary Klimowicz (191-87, college: TCNJ) produced 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Gaelle Gur (167-89) added 11 points, 5 assists and 9 steals respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Fribourg. They maintain second place with 14-3 record having just three points less than leader Helios. Nyon lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 15 games lost. Fribourg will meet bottom-ranked Hope-GBA (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Nyon will play against Highflyers in Luzern and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
