Regular Season Round 15: Dynamo MO - N.Novgorod 66-69

Bottom-ranked BC Nizhny Novgorod managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time newly promoted BC Nizhny Novgorod edged ninth-ranked Dynamo Moscow 69-66. It looked good early as Dynamo Moscow took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then BC Nizhny Novgorod had a 21-16 second period charge getting the lead and Dynamo Moscow was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-69. BC Nizhny Novgorod made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for guard Dmitry Kulagin (195-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points. Serbian guard Ivan Paunic (194-87, agency: Beo Basket) helped adding 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four BC Nizhny Novgorod players scored in double figures. BC Nizhny Novgorod's coach Zoran Lukic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Nikita Shabalkin (205-86) with 18 points and international forward Alexey Zhukanenko (210-86, agency: Alti Sport) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. BC Nizhny Novgorod (5-10) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Krasnie Krilya. Dynamo Moscow at the other side dropped to the bottom position with 11 games lost. BC Nizhny Novgorod will play against higher ranked Khimky (#4) in Khimki in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dynamo Moscow will play at home against Triumph Lyubertsy (#9) in Lubertsy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
