Regular Season Round 22: Falco-Szova - ZTE KK 68-65

The most exciting game of round 22 in the A Division took place in Szombathely. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked ZTE KK (13-9) to seventh ranked Falco-Szova (12-10) 68-65 on Wednesday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But ZTE KK won third quarter 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Falco-Szova won last quarter 16-15. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to ZTE KK's 24. 25 personal fouls committed by ZTE KK helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Jara Doyne (193-84, college: Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Laszlo Kalman (186-72, agency: Laszlo Vinko Services) contributed with 14 points and 6 assists for the winners. Falco-Szova's coach Nikola Lazic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international swingman Tamas Kaman (200-79, agency: Laszlo Vinko Services) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!) and international power forward Adam Toth (208-89, agency: FCM) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for ZTE KK. Falco-Szova have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 12-10 record. ZTE KK lost third consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the sixth place with nine games lost. Falco-Szova are looking forward to face league's leader Szolnok in Szolnok in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. ZTE KK will play at home against the league's second-placed Albacomp (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
