Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Marso-Vagep (8-14) was outscored by third ranked Atomeromu (16-6) in Paks 95-62 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 33 points. Atomeromu shot 63.9 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Atomeromu looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American guard Jibril Hodges (188-84, college: Long Beach St.) notched 17 points and 7 assists to lead the effort and the other American import power forward Brooks Sales (208-80, college: Villanova) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Atomeromu players scored in double figures. Even 23 points and 8 assists by Slovenian guard Brane Savic (181-79) did not help to save the game for Marso-Vagep. The former international center Laszlo Czigler (215-71, agency: Laszlo Vinko Services) added 11 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Atomeromu have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 16-6 record having just three points less than leader Szolnok. Marso-Vagep lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 14 games lost. Atomeromu will meet Soproni (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Marso-Vagep will play against Szedeak in Szeged and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
