The game between Top Four teams took place in Kuban. Third ranked host Lokomotiv (11-5) defeated their biggest opponent CSKA Moscow (10-6) 74-68. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It looked good early as CSKA Moscow took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Lokomotiv had a 25-13 second period charge getting the lead and CSKA Moscow was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-74. The winners were led by guard Aleksei Surovtsev (202-84) who scored that evening 14 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 steals and American-FYR Macedonian forward Jeremiah Massey (202-82, college: Kansas St.) supported him with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Even 18 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) by international center Sasha Kaun (211-85) did not help to save the game for CSKA Moscow. Slovenian forward Matjaz Smodis (205-79) added 15 points for lost side. Lokomotiv moved-up to second place. Defending champion CSKA Moscow dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Spartak SP. Lokomotiv will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
