An interesting game for Spartak Vidnoye (15-2) which hosted in Vidnoye 4th placed Dynamo Kursk (10-7). Second ranked Spartak Vidnoye had an easy win 72-54. The game was mostly controlled by Spartak Vidnoye. Dynamo Kursk managed to win second period 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Spartak Vidnoye dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Dynamo Kursk's 26. They outrebounded Dynamo Kursk 43-21 including a 33-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Israeli-American guard Sue Bird (175-80, college: Connecticut) nailed 15 points for the winning side and Bulgarian-American guard Noelle Quinn (183-85, college: UCLA) accounted for 9 points and 6 rebounds. Spartak Vidnoye's coach Pokey Chatman used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Anastasia Bocharova (182-77) came up with 6 points and 5 rebounds and American center Michelle Snow (196-80, college: Tennessee, agency: LBM Management) added 8 points respectively for Dynamo Kursk in the defeat. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Spartak Vidnoye. They maintain second place with 15-2 record having just two points less than leader UMMC. Loser Dynamo Kursk keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Spartak Vidnoye will meet league's leader UMMC Ekaterinburg on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dynamo Kursk will play against Spartak-SHVSM in Moscow and hope to secure a win.
