The game between third ranked Khimky (10-6) and fifth ranked CSKA Moscow (11-6) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Khimky was defeated by CSKA Moscow in Moscow 81-70. The game was mostly controlled by CSKA Moscow. Khimky managed to win fourth quarter 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international guard J.R. Holden (185-76, college: Bucknell) who scored 19 points. American swingman Jamont Gordon (193-87, college: Mississippi St.) chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds. Four CSKA Moscow players scored in double figures. Naturalized Greek center Lazaros Papadopoulos (210-80, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) produced 9 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and American swingman Keith Langford (193-83, college: Kansas) added 21 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Spartak SP. Khimky at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. CSKA Moscow is looking forward to face Krasnie Krilya (#6) in Samara in the next round. Khimky will play on the road against Triumph Lyubertsy in Lubertsy and is hoping to win this game.
