Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Triumph Lyubertsy (4-13) was outscored by fifth ranked Khimky (11-6) in Lubertsy 90-54 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Khimky. Triumph Lyubertsy was better in third quarter 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Khimky dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Triumph Lyubertsy's 28. They outrebounded Triumph Lyubertsy 42-26 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American swingman Keith Langford (193-83, college: Kansas) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. International forward Sergey Monya (203-83) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Khimky players scored in double figures. Guard Iliya Syrovatko (193-88) replied with 11 points and center Aleksei Kurcevich (209-89) added 7 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Triumph Lyubertsy. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Khimky moved-up to fourth place. Triumph Lyubertsy lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Khimky will face Krasnie Krilya (#7) in Samara in the next round. Triumph Lyubertsy will play on the road against Spartak St.Petersburg.
