Regular Season Round 23: Falco-Szova - Szolnok 83-82

There was a change at the A Division leadership position after last games. Round 23 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Szolnok (19-4). They were edged by seventh ranked Falco-Szova (13-10) 83-82 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Szolnok. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Szolnok won third quarter 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Falco-Szova made 31-of-39 free shots (79.5 percent) during the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Szolnok helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American forward Charles Gosa (202-77, college: N.Mexico St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Jara Doyne (193-84, college: Mississippi) helped adding 22 points. Falco-Szova's coach Nikola Lazic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international center Marton Bader (212-80, agency: Laszlo Vinko Services) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and American guard Obie Trotter (186-84, college: Alabama A&M, agency: Court Side) scored 19 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Falco-Szova have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with ZTE KK. Szolnok at the other side dropped to the second position with four games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Albacomp. Szolnok will play next round against ZTE KK trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Falco-Szova will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Atomeromu in Paks.
