No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Monthey (15-11) smashed at home bottom-ranked Zurich Wildcats (1-25) 107-71 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Monthey led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Zurich Wildcats' 42. The best player for the winners was American forward Arizona Reid (196-86, college: High Point) who scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import guard John Sharper (186-84, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. Five Monthey players scored in double figures. Monthey's coach Thibaut Petit felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Serbian power forward Zoran Zivanovic (203-92) produced 18 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Michael Jacobsen (197-88) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Monthey maintains fifth position with 15-11 record. Zurich Wildcats lost fifteenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 25 lost games. Monthey will face Boncourt (#7) at home in the next round. Zurich Wildcats will play against SAM Massagno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
