Regular Season Round 24: FS Debrecen - Kecskemeti 77-99
Date: March 23, 2011
Very expected game when 13th ranked FS Debrecen (1-23) was rolled over at home by fifth ranked Kecskemeti (15-9) 99-77 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Kecskemeti. FS Debrecen managed to win second period 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Krisztian Wittmann (185-85, agency: FCM) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 assists and American guard Jerome LaGrange (192-78, college: Livingstone) who added 17 points and 6 assists during the contest (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five Kecskemeti players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Cameroonian forward Yves Mekongo (201-87, college: La Salle) with 28 points and 6 rebounds and American power forward Kevin Langford (204-85, college: TCU) scored 24 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kecskemeti maintains fifth position with 15-9 record. FS Debrecen lost twentiethth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 23 games lost. They share the position with Salgotarjani. Kecskemeti will meet at home bottom-ranked Salgotarjani (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. FS Debrecen will play against the league's second-placed Albacomp in Szekesfehervar.
