Regular Season Round 24: Kormend - Albacomp 80-68

Round 24 in A Division means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Kormend where host Kormend (16-8) beat league's leader Albacomp (20-4) 80-68 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Albacomp. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-68. Kormend had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Rashad Bell (201-82, college: Boston U.) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Emmanuel Dies (204-77, college: Kansas St., agency: Interperformances) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was center Jonathan Jones (211-79) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Tony Crocker (201-87, college: Oklahoma, agency: Impact Basketball) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Kormend maintains fourth position with 16-8 record. Albacomp at the other side still keeps top place with four games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Szolnok who have the same record. Just two games before the end of Regular Season and it may be the most important game of the season next round when Albacomp faces FS Debrecen trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Kormend will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked ZTE KK in Zalaegerszeg.
