No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Monthey (16-11) crushed at home 7th ranked Boncourt (12-15) 77-46 on Saturday. The game without a history. Monthey led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Monthey shot 21 for 34 from the free-throw line, while Boncourt only scored two points from the stripe. Monthey forced 19 Boncourt turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American-Jamaican forward Ronald Yates (201-83, college: St.Peter's) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. American guard John Sharper (186-84, college: San Diego St.) accounted for 18 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winning side. American center Tony Gugino (207-86, college: Hillsdale) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds and Belgian forward Douglas Tshomba (201-83, college: Tusculum) added 4 points respectively for Boncourt in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Monthey moved-up to fourth place, which they share with SAV Vacallo. Loser Boncourt keeps the seventh position with 15 games lost.
